Allergy List

published on April 15th, 2008 . by Jill

This list of allergies were the result of a blood test for the IgG antibody. The ones that my doctor has stated I should eliminate from my diet are starred.

Severe

  • Chicken Eggs, both the egg white and egg yolk*
  • Yeast, both brewer and baker*

Moderate

  • Gluten*
  • Almond*

Low

  • Cow’s Milk*
  • Kidney Beans*
  • Blueberries
  • Oysters

Borderline

  • Zucchini
  • Sugar Cane
  • Soy Bean
  • Sesame
  • Green Bell Pepper
  • Garlic
  • Cucumber

There are other things that I may be allergic to as well.  I do my best to avoid MSG because I find that I get horrendous headaches after I consume some.  One thing I was surprised to see was that hazelnuts didn’t show as an allergy on the blood test.  If I eat too many hazelnuts then my bottom lip seems to swell and feel itchy.  Maybe it’s a different antibody that’s involved?  I don’t seem to react at all when it’s just a hazelnut flavored chocolate though.

Hey, just found your web page and was reading your allergies. I have many too, thankfully it is not eggs or gluten. I can comment though on your hazelnut question. When then do the allergy panel test there are a couple levels 0-6 also there is an actual % of IgE that react to the allergan, if it is less than 0.35% it will not register, but you may still have an allergy to that paticular thing. This means that as time goes on it may get worse or better, it all depends on your body. One day you are not allergic to something the next you are. On a side note by 2 big allergies are shellfish and carrots. Shellfish send me into anaphalaxis while carrots make me cough. Hope this helps

I was tested for the IgE ones too but luckily nothing came of it. Those are the scary, instant reaction ones!
